I Asked My Mom to Take Me Trick-or-Treating

My mother is a scary mummy.
Her hair’s spiked like a monster.
Dark shadows lurk beneath her eyes.
Her nose is a woodpecker’s beak.
Each fang’s the shape of candy corns
And her claws are like a lion’s.
She’s growling like a grizzly bear
And stomping like Frankenstein.
Her perfume comes from skunks I’m sure,
I can smell she’s coming closer! I fear impending doom.
She shows her fangs, hand on her hip,
Then points a claw at me and snarls,

“Eat these Brussels sprouts
And then go clean your room!”

I don’t think this is a trick or a treat.

Happy Halloween!
